That part about people who attempt to avoid life’s pain, which I say could look like refusing to take risks, or not allowing oneself close relationships after disappointments, are shirking life’s dues—avoiding the gifts they are doing but only can receive through the cultivation of those fruiting opportunities that come invariably after the rain.
