for starters, you should factor in the age of the accounts small accounts = good new accounts sweeping big rewards their first week to be never seen again later = bad unfair to anyone showing up here every day

@tinyrainboot was mentioning this before. For me: my own score is worse than a fad diet there are a few grifters and gamers able to get on the board through tons of farming tactics ( @pichi & I reported this user who was HIGH up last week so many times & countless other have in /stolen & when /superrare was tipping $rare) if the same CORE users only engage with the seeded account & the team does this too yes you (dwr & v etc don’t go on the board) yet somehow the @farcaster account is. Removing the inactive accounts from the score obviously is great but seems to be flawed too.

High-quality casting deserves recognition. Many accounts are overlooked on the leaderboard because the algorithm prioritizes engagement-to-follower ratios. Consistency should also be rewarded, with factors such as account age being considered to some extent. This is similar to what @sahil and his team implemented with @curabot. Additionally, I’d suggest creating a fair system to reward onboarding efforts, even if it means capping the points to a specific limit.

Allow us to teach ourselves how to become better quality casters. Some sort of feedback we can use to know when we are doing good things or bad things. One week at a time is a good start. I can recall my casting habits from the previous 7 days in general and make adjustments. I have already slowed my pace of invites I send out. First week I was on the rewards ranking I got 3 invite conversions to new members. But if I only get 1,500 for the first invite conversions, why bother? But what else do I do or more importantly am I not doing? I don’t have time to hack in a doppelgänger account like @alinaferry did. Not a true new member experience though. Many of the ppl she knows knew abt the alt account and engaged accordingly. There are plenty of new members who don’t have the optimized and automatized FC knowledge to cast in ways that reap engagement.

Experiment idea: Normalize rewards on a per-channel basis, rather than per-follower basis. Particularly, a cast in a small-ish channel that drives a lot of engagement and new subscribers could be reward-worthy. (Not necessarily a permanent algo, but could be a fun one-off meta.)

I'm not sure, I've found the experience fair personally (as a big account, I've gotten rewarded but its not a given, ie I have to actually go hard to get it) I would just put the rewards somewhere in the app where I see them, I see the reminder but would love to see the *potential* dollar amount

powerbadges, but one track for daily q/DAU streak (not spammy and surpasses simple threshold), and a color-coded track for leaderboard streak. also, just daily motivational/recap notifications are free*

Remove the top and OG Farcaster accounts from counting in the scoring as well as remove from rewards. Alina knows original Farcaster ppl and that’s the only reason why the alt account is getting points. If you get more points from an interaction from an og Farcaster person then ppl will bombard them for interactions too.

Actually, something like @abundance’s /impact system could be used for identifying quality content and casters as well as it currently is for tipping. Essentially, everyone gets to vote on what is quality content with an impact allowance based on reputation and history. If people don’t agree, they down vote the curation. If people get downvoted a lot, the amount of clout they have in the system is reduced. Maybe the “curators” initially are the folx that have already proven themselves rather than everyone. Not fool proof, but the anonymous downvoting and ability to uplift should create a really different landscape than the current old boys club.

Honestly I'm just confused by it. I often check the top people that I dont know to find more good accounts to follow and I've seen a couple of weeks where the top ranked users have almost no activity, typically single digit reactions to their casts. I also see too many of these shared accounts on top, which i find artificially inflated. And im confused by my own rank every week, I went from 73 (seemed surprisingly low tbh) to like 730 back down to 400s with basically the same level of activity in all three weeks. I know these aren't suggestions, sorry.
