Hard to say. It could be very effective depending on which district we are talking about.

A more left candidate is not going to win. Has to move to the center on the core issues (esp. economy and immigration)

The Democrats are the center. The left doesn't exist in the USA.

And early results for Trump in the economy and immigration areas is mixed at best. Biden deported more people. NASDAQ is down 10%. Inflation is still up. He didn't lower prices on day 1 at all. He actually hasn't done anything to even try and control pricing issues.
