After a slow start post-holidays, Farcaster is on track for its best metrics week in nearly 2 months.

Invite claim rate this week was 95%. Onboarding is starting to feel pretty good. 

Retention still around 60% at Week 1, but have a bunch of tweaks we think we can do it improve it.

1. We need to migrate everyone mainnet and expecting users to do that would be messy.

2. Separately, name squatting would be a huge problem.

Strategy is to prove we can consistently grow every week + keep existing users retained. And then think through a scalable mechanic to prevent squatting.

Might be time to dump invite-only. Double-edged sword past a point, tradeoff between signaling quality/exclusivity and rewarding putting on airs and self-congratulation. Kills democratic spirit of play. Reason I never joined clubhouse. It always acted…clubby.

If you still need rationing for scaling just use a lotter

Dang 95% invite claim rate is nuts. Is that the highest it’s ever been? If y’all ever do a publicly available analysis on growth metrics I’d love to see it.
