How are people feeling about announcements? 1. When they first launched, a bunch of complaints about them being too spammy. 2. Another population of people claim they never check the channels tab. If we were to move announcements into the All / Priority tab (vs. keeping them in Channels), how would you feel?

I’ve been trained to never check /notifications/channels tab because very rarely are there announcements above the fold I care about “Unfollow the channel?” - yes but that’s more work, haven’t done the work yet; notification tabs are for positive dopamine hits but I get handed work when I go to it - in some cases, I want to follow said channels, I just don’t want notifications for their announcements (same as email newsletters I subscribe to — they go into a separate folder skipping my primary inbox; I don’t want them mixed in with other things I care more about) “What kind of channel notifications would you like?” - announcements or channel casts I’ve turned on notifications for; currently this exists but get buried by other announcements and I miss all of them “Move channel announcements into priority?” I guess the added noise will force me to unfollow channels so if the goal is to force that choice, then sure (feel free to ignore any/all of this)

So what's the ideal experience for you (ignore how to solve in product)? What do you want to see?

One of: - Warpcast tells me which channels to unfollow and I tap one button to unfollow, as a result don’t get announcement notifications from them again - follow channels without getting announcement notifications - one tap unfollow channel from the notification itself — — — — I’ve always struggled with “announcements” personally. I care about silent pinning way more than announcements. We make _announcements_ of new features on /neynar all the time but never push a notification for it. This is due to how I like my notifications (aka very few) and I deliver a similar experience to our users (“companies become extensions of their founders” etc.). That said, it’s likely a useful feature for others.
