If an AI agent can generate top 1% supply of the atomic unit whatever your network / protocol / marketplace is optimizing for, why would you care if it was human or not? Value is is value.

I think as long as it’s clear they’re an AI or human, then it doesn’t matter. For example if it turned out all the top accounts on FC were actually AI, that would completely change your view of the farcaster network, no?

Depends what you’re optimizing for. If it’s to be entertained, why do you care? Funny is funny. Smart is smart.

In social networks, my theory is authenticity of personality is what is selected for. It’s why spelling mistakes can be a good thing. Also why I think brands are giving way to personalities (like Mr beast, Kylie Jenner, and Rogan’s alpha brain). Assuming that’s true, then we end with an interesting question…

The best entertainers & artists are respected specifically because of their humanity: life experience, vulnerability, etc. Its why AI content doesn't do very well on instagram and tiktok. Authenticity is more entertaining.

Once AI gets to that point that you truly can’t tell There will be an over supply of “great creators” and it will be close to impossible for real users to grow their accounts and they will leave Then your advertisers might still pay advertise as they see the users are getting great engagement on the website but eventually they’ll start noticing that their advertisements aren’t resulting in many sales, and they’ll leave Now also it becomes very difficult to tell who are the real users and who aren’t, so data can’t be sold anymore either since no one knows if it can be trustworthy Where will the social networks get their money?
