I don’t get all complaining about Twitter moving to a subscription model. Assume it’s mostly Elon bad, so new thing Elon does is bad. The product will improve if the default experience is you only see subscribers.

My experience with the “only show notifications from subscribers” feed is that it was worthless. I expect to just move to lists. Also: it does feel like a public good is getting destroyed, even if as a for profit company it should’ve never acted like one, it will be missed.

I would pay for Farcaster once it became my main source of cutting edge work info! Huge fan of the project. Twitter is just making it harder for me to follow people doing cool work in my field and asking me to pay them for it.

Wow, this shows the scamminess of some VCs. I doubt anyone with a reasonable technical skillset would have ever called Twitter a protocol. It‘s the classic Paul Graham „dream-selling“ he did it with Airbnb too. For real, fuck that guy. I can totally appreciate someone building that protocol. But tell the truth!
