Should we rebrand Warpcast to Farcaster?

We separated Warpcast (the app) from Farcaster (the protocol) a few years ago. 

We've heard from many new users that this is very, very confusing. People hear about Farcaster, search in the app store, can't find anything called Farcaster and then churn.

Hard agree. Crypto is confusing enough. Keep it simple. We are all on Farcaster. 

What is the lift here?

Personally I use the terms interchangeably anyway so I would say for the average user it's better to just call it Farcaster and prevent the confusion. I remember when i first joined i struggled to find the app in the app store as I was looking for Farcaster.

Immediately love the idea, Farcaster is the stronger name and stronger brand and everyone I talked to about it did not get why the app has a different name. Protocol can have the same name, in the end it will be the (single) name for the whole ecosystem.

Yes. I’m all for technical correctness and understand the distinction between client and protocol but reality is that it’s confusing at this stage.

Early days we had devs and it was good separate but now it’s better to bring all the branding effort to one name and not have to educate newcomers on new concepts.

I delayed joining for months bcz of this confusion !
When I first heard about it, i couldn’t find farcaster in the app store
If my friend hadn’t pushed me to check it out, i might not be here today !
