Always hesitant on extra kitchen gadgets, but the pasta insert for Made In stock pots is pretty convenient if you make pasta frequently and want to keep the starchy water readily available for finishing the sauce-pasta emulsion. https://madeincookware.com/products/pasta-insert/pasta-insert

I bought this but almost never used and gave it away, because when you lift the built-in colander and move it away you inevitably make a mess - instead what I do is keep another bowl with its own colander and tip the pasta pot into that let it strain a few seconds and then tip the colander into the saucepan

that was my move before, but I find that I lift, dump pasta in sauce, insert in sink and then I have starch water. I also now get extra starchy water from the kid pasta we make before the adult pasta
