I’m reasoning outloud here, It’s not because of trading, due to regulation NMS. However, NYSE specifically assigns dealers to each company for market making, while Nasdaq has a different mechanism. They might be unhappy with how much they’re paying for thay yearly or something along those lines

They're aiming for more volume (which tends to increase price) Just the mere fact they are switching generates buzz & consequently volume
