It wasn't very clear what specifically she meant by being held hostage, but I think the meat of the matter is gating video access by power badges. It's a fickle metric that comes and goes, and artists need reliable access.

I’m alway perplexed by this: I mean, at some point, if you always tell people to fix things themselves, they’re just going to create their own competing thing. Look at the position of Rust => against C++ Look at the postion of Farcaster => improving Twitter. It’s hard to address all of this tho, but we need to!

Why don't you think this is productive feedback? I agree it could've been more CONSTRUCTIVE, but it does seem like a valid issue and building another client isn't a viable solution for everyone with complaints. Maybe we need more than one badge type? Power user vs power content?
