It's not confusing to me personally (and I agree w you it may be the right long term move) but.... telling a new person all about "Farcaster" and then giving them the call-to-action of downloading "Warpcast" inevitably confuses them

It might be a circular reference between the two. Makes it easy to mix it up for people who just learned about it. "Warpcaster" is a popular one :)

I think bc ppl don't disambiguate the underlying architecture of a social media app whereas on money : wallet are two separate things to most. And farcaster is phonetically superior

the current system of money is similar in that dollar is the protocol which other companies act as a client for. when you switch banks, you bring the money with you. when you switch emails, you don't bring them with you. on top of that it never existed with social before, and wallet is a friendlier term unlike client

Metamask is your physical wallet and Ethereum is the market you’re interacting with. It’s easier to understand. I think a good analogy here would be Internet and a browser.

Think you're being extremely kind towards the average user here MetaMask is already very difficult to explain to the normies. That's why lots of them are still hodling strong on FTX and the likes.

As someone who's quite 'techy', but struggles with a lot of the crypto terminology, I'd argue that even the eth/metamask distinction was a difficult concept to get my head around. I thought it was some kind of a scam when my friend told me about farcast, and the link took me to warpcast 😶‍🌫️
