Confession: the rewards leaderboard has been deterring me from wanting to make new content. 

I feel like I’m someone who puts a good amount of effort into my content, and definitely a lot with my scripted videos. 

I see a lot of people who make amazing, thoughtful content and never end up in the top 5.

How could we improve it?

Any specific examples you can share would be useful for improving the algo!

I love the idea of voting. Then it feels more participatory. 

In terms of actual algo, and I’m not saying this because I sometimes make video content (I’ve been slacking lately), but I see people make really fun video content which takes longer to make (e.g. @afrochicks @lambchop) and they don’t make top 5. It would be cool if there was a way to make the algorithm take into account the quality and value of the content people create. Idk how though.

I’m not saying that you should go back to the daily rewards but I did love the little dopamine hit from my “you’ve received 5 USDC” notifications. I think I’m primarily motivated by validation. Maybe it’s because I am of the participation trophy generation.

Dont make rewards user specific. Group users, give rewards to groups
