I’m on a quest to get more people to use a .eth as their Farcaster username. If you don’t use your .eth as your username, why not and what would make you change your mind?

People prefer shorter names they were early for vs. decentralized. :)

What if the desired FC name is already taken? To me this isn’t a real benefit. It just means that Farcaster is a relatively small network with many names still available. I suspect that many ppl are confused and don’t realize that it’s the FID that is onchain and not the fname.

But your short names are limited too-- most are prob taken by now or lost already due to inactivity The landgrab mightve helped F starting up but ENS distribution/structure is better longterm Short names become available again after expiry, ENS earns fees on m and ppl that want a short name always could acquire one
