I’m on a quest to get more people to use a .eth as their Farcaster username. If you don’t use your .eth as your username, why not and what would make you change your mind?

People prefer shorter names they were early for vs. decentralized. :)

What if the desired FC name is already taken? To me this isn’t a real benefit. It just means that Farcaster is a relatively small network with many names still available. I suspect that many ppl are confused and don’t realize that it’s the FID that is onchain and not the fname.

I don't think consumers care about onchain. They care about the apps they use. And there are way fewer ENS names available. Newer namespaces will always be more desirable for new people. People with good names on old namespaces will want people to adopt that namespace because it makes their name more valuable. :)
