People don’t want to see uninteresting replies and casts. Best way to solve for that is weight historical inbound engagement for a user, i.e. PageRank-like score for every user. Disproportionally hurts new accounts. Making it harder to get started.

Maybe they get a grace period or for like first 20 casts/replies? Uninteresting content can be detected with that sample size I think 🤔

Some of my friends tried to get started on here when I was constantly giving positive feedback about farcaster, but they and I have had completely different experience, even I on my first try here felt like I was being ghosted collectively, I stopped using as I felt maybe I didn't belong.

But on my second time here, I got into channels like /replyguys and that got me talking with some people, and now I don't ever wanna go on any other sm, I think the culture here is extremely positive, but new users have a hard time getting started, unless if they come with existing following from X or so.

I think you're underestimating people's hospitality tbh, if I'm scrolling through my feed and once a day I see a cast with two buttons at the bottom like, do you like it? Yes or no, I'll be fine and infact excited to rate a new user with good content. New users should feel welcomed, makes them really stick around.
