About half the time when I try to add an emoji it doesn't work. The emoji popup won't show. I haven't discovered a pattern yet of when this happens. I'm using Brave browser on Mac.

And I was able to add an emoji right now: 🤷‍♂️ Again, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

Control–Command–Space bar: Show the Character Viewer, from which you can choose emoji and other symbols.

In case this helps: I just had the emoji picker pop up in the wrong location on the screen. Maybe it's anchored to the wrong element, and so sometimes it's entirely invisible? I'll investigate this some more.
