How’s this not the biggest crypto unlock of the year? @base and Square need to partner up on this. Face ID -> NFC Tap -> Xfer USDC 2.75% saved for small merchants. Goodbye Visa. Goodbye networks. https://9to5mac.com/2024/08/14/apple-nfc-chip-iphone-ios-18-1/

Consumers get 1-3% cash back when they use a credit card. And chargeback protection.

Rewards programs are pretty easily replicated on chain - chargeback protection is one of the few instances where a middleman really is hard to beat.

And who pays for the rewards if you don’t have the fees and interest rates? :)

Fair, but Base chain sure is collecting a ton of transaction fees. Diverting that back to network growth via rewards programs might be one option? Merchants offering the rewards directly is another. Interest and non-collateralized lending both need a robust on chain credit system. It feels like we just need fresh ways to arrange new puzzle pieces

In the customer is paying for the rewards itself when doing a transaction but this way when the merchant is saving some money they can lower the price to its original and both the party won This is what I think 🤔
