Channel member migration plan 1. Last week, we previewed the upcoming channel changes 2. We want to ensure that existing channels have a set of members on Day 1 3. We’re proposing automatically converting active followers → members for channels. 4. We’re optimizing for something straightforward and pragmatic, not perfect. 5. We’re looking for feedback on this proposal. https://warpcast.notion.site/Channel-member-migration-plan-10a6a6c0c101802fb900d3e45d879271

Won’t that blow for large channels ? Or how’s moderation there going to factor in? Like /memes cc @nonlinear.eth

Large channels will have to adjust to the new model. But we're optimistic that membership can scale, esp. through developer built tooling.

@seneca is cooking an interesting solution for /nouns (and any other channel that wants to use it I assume) but it requires a small, high-signal membership to start. How will the “active followers” be decided? Can channels opt out and just start with no members if they want to try something different?

Are there accounts in the /nouns home feed now that wouldn't qualify?

I think Seneca had the idea to start with noun holders only and is creating a frame solution that would allow members to invite other Nounish folk at a set rate, and so on and so forth in concentric circles outward. Right now the nouns feed I believe is just anyone with a certain Airstack social score (or whose post was liked by a panel of 10 volunteer moderators) so is probably a much larger starting group than “noun holders.”

Got it. Do you or @seneca have a timeline for having a bot that checks for Nounish NFTs? Because if ready for end of next week, then it would allow you to essentially opt out.

we're working on the invite system piece not the initial seeding. current migration plan options seem p good (and are more a one-off so not worth shifting focus for now).
