PSA for future "shock images" Warpcast will nerf folks for explicit images. It's not deterministic, our judgement. This isn't a court. - I'll ask the user to delete the cast - If they don't, I'll nerf on Warpcast To be clear: the cast exists at the protocol. Similar to websites, Google doesn't have to index you.

Not picking a fight. Genuinely curious. (And ❤️ debate) If users have option to unfollow, hide, mute, block, why does client need to nerf? So long as it’s not harming or threatening another person, why take such a heavy hand? I’m not saying you are wrong, just trying to understand your logic and policy.

1. Explicit images will get us banned from the App Store -- so until we have automated systems to flag / hide by default, don't want to deal with that 2. We use Imgur for image hosting, so if you're uploading from Warpcast affecting our API access 3. my pov 80%+ of users are fine with our judgement for now

Again, if other apps think this is a winning strategy, by all means they should shout from the roof tops that their policy is better. I suspect most people will be fine with a reasonable approach.

On Twitter there are tons of explicit images and they have no issues with that no? Maybe it’s bc on Twitter they won’t show those posts on your timeline unless you explicitly follow or search for these accounts. But that’s something clients like Warpcast could do as well, right? Or do I see this wrong?
