why the focus on text, i prefer it myself but seems like biggest share of the market is more ready to be hooked to video/photos

Text-based to facilitate conversations? I'm enjoying it more as I like to converse in writing, although in the past I've shared mostly photos, but I like to share photos AND stories. Although I hope that linking out to say, a blog, will not be penalized in the future. Most of my stories would be too long to be directly in WC.
