There's 2 things to this, I think. Probably more, but let's focus on 2. It's good to raise this conversation, because although to some it feels like we've been here forever, this still is a still evolving platform, and that means experimenting with how to deal with things like spam. I think the developer team works hard to iterate and adjust.
The second thing is that there is a difference between a low-effort comment (Thank you for posting, you are a king, ser, or the much memed wowow that even changes the like button), and a comment that shows some thought has gone into it, and attention has been paid to the original cast.
Moxie is still very new. And if the big accounts interact with the smaller accounts, that delivers a lot of moxie to that smaller account. Even I (I consider myself a medium-sized account) got some posts (replies and tags) that were clearly just designed to get me to react to bring in some moxie.
To be clear: I try to interact with smaller accounts, and help them grow. 1 reply
