I just saw a commercial for morethannormalaging.com which was pushing a medication that treated amyloid plaques in the brain. My understanding was that this theory of Alzheimer’s wasn’t holding up well to clinical interventions. What is our latest understanding of the causes of dementia?

I've heard that genetic mutations and cell death caused by iron toxicity are contributing factors to dementia
