Am I reading this correctly?

You are nerfed for having more followers?

New accounts are basically incentivized?

1) One of the biggest complaint about Farcaster is that people have no engagement compared to their Twitter following, so incentivizing new accounts seems ideal
2) If you are new and a bunch of your followers are vibing with you, that's a better sign of engagement than if you have a bunch of followers and no one cares about your casts. 
I will say it should be adjusted by ACTIVE followers, because people are being punished for being followed by people who aren't here anymore cc @dwr.eth

No reason to purge because they might come back but would be nice to change their status in the algorithm

Yeah that's exactly on par with what I was thinking. It's great to incentivize new people, get them excited and they will want to participate more. Then hopefully they tell their friends and the flywheel continues.

Just wish there was a way to purge followers who haven't been active in +6 months
