I took a photo of Adrien Brody. I didn't see the Brutalist but he was one of my all time favorite celebs to photograph. The location sucked and only had 5 minutes to shoot so the photos I took aren't great, but I was shooting for the Village Voice and apparently his mom used to work there so he was really pumped to be shooting with me and just wanted to talk about the Voice.

I took a photo of Iggy Pop. The funny thing about photographing Iggy is that I did a whole shoot with him for the company that made the vest he is wearing and I have never had anyone be more controlling of their image. I had so many nice shots he wouldn't let me us because he didn't like the way he looked in them. After the shoot there was a party to launch the vest collab, and a bunch of bands played. Iggy introduced them, but I wasn't allowed to take any photos of him with the mic because they didn't want it to look like he was actually performing. I took one shot with my 35mm and didn't include it in the coverage. I am posting it for the first time now because 1) It's been so long and 2) I don't work for that client anymore so what are they gonna do? Maybe when he dies I will post some of the photos from the actual shoot, although it's entirely possible that he is immortal.

I took a photo of Jim Jarmusch. He's one of my favorite directors of all time and I ran into him at an art book fair. He told me I could take his photo, but he wanted to be wearing sunglasses. I wish it was earlier in the day so I could have photographed him without flash, but I'll take it.

Gm tomorrow is the 24th anniversary of the website I started in my college dorm room. In December I wiped the site including hundreds if not thousands of posts and I am starting completely from scratch tomorrow. It's pretty exciting... In other news, anyone old enough to remember when fan signs were a thing?

I took a photo of Adriana Chechik smoking weed. If you don't know who Adriana is you are either lying or one of the 6% of women/gays on here. This photo is from the first time we met. I have known her for more than a decade now but at the time she had only done a couple of adult scenes and was a friend of another model I had photographed. She was so much fun to take photos of/ hang out with and we stayed up super late and ended up at a diner which sort of became a tradition for our shotos. Honestly I think I have more photos of her at diners than I do photos of her taken during the daytime. 👇

I took a photo of my friend Julia. I took this at the 101 diner in LA back in 2010 I think. I was working for Vice Magazine at the time doing the Dos and Don'ts which is a section they got rid of when they sold the company and got corporate overlords. Looking back it's probably for the best, but I took a lot of pride in my Dos. Julia was obviously a Do. Anyway, Eric from Tim & Eric saw her photo in Vice and apparently was mildly obsessed with her just from the photo. I am not exactly sure how he found her in real life but they ended up dating because of this photo. At some point Julia asked me to make a print of this photo for his birthday or an anniversary or something so that's how I technically have Eric Wareheim as a collector. The end.
