People don’t want to see uninteresting replies and casts.

Best way to solve for that is weight historical inbound engagement for a user, i.e. PageRank-like score for every user.

Disproportionally hurts new accounts. Making it harder to get started.

Uninteresting replies are really only a problem for people who get a ton of replies. For people with small followings, which is most people here, I would imagine they would want to see ever reply unless it was just complete spam. I hate missing tips and casts from people that are hidden.

Meanwhile some of the posts with the most views who show up in the feed are often engagement farms that feel really spammy and low effort. That being said, super appreciate you thinking about all of this and being transparent with us. I love it here.
