Both coming out in the next few weeks.  Planning to read these? Which are you more excited for?

I mostly abstain from books  like these. The Musk ones are personal branding pieces typically tied to a larger PR effort to get us to believe in a certain perspective that is not reflective to the larger truth.

Absolutely fair point. I am both pessimistic and bias on these. I firmly believe there is always a motive to highlight certain truths while hiding others… not always on purpose but just matter of human perspective and influence. 

I prefer biographies on the dead tho those are not without fault too.

I think authors like Isaacson do a pretty good job of giving a more "real" story?

But def see the angle you're coming at.

I've read Ashlee Vance's biography on Elon and I think he made a genuine effort of showing both sides of his personality
