kind of a bummer to see farcaster posts about follower count 'wow vitalik only has x followers' 'i have more followers than vitalik' 'it sucks to have so many followers on twitter and only x followers here' may simply be a dynamic of this type of network, but i'd love to leave follower counts behind in web 2.0

I think what we should be asking is, what is a better proxy for authority than (easily gameable) follower count?

“this person is followed by [people you’re following” it’s really all that matters from a profile view!

was thinking about the same thing this weekend and arrived at the same conclusion. there's no point in being able to see full follower/follow counts. just the list of mutual follows
