Are standups archaic for small (remote) teams? Increasingly feel like a one weekly call is good and allow async for the rest of the week + tooling to keep everyone in the loop

Any input on how to make work more pleasant for everyone is appreciated

they’re great BUT culture needs to be set that work doesn’t require the meeting. eg it’s easy to fall in a pattern of “hmm, can i do this yet? i’m not sure so i’ll just pause and wait until i can bring it up in the weekly meeting in two days”

This is a huge anti pattern.. the waiting to talk to each other for the weekly mtg
