Any reason why the @purple account shouldn’t be farming $degen? I’ll gladly send over some of the boost NFTs. With a few posts in the /degen channel it could be top 50 pretty easy. Free $$ for /purple or the DAO could hold depending what happens.

I second this. I think there’s a difference between passive and active engagement in and benefit from a meme coin. Not sure the DAO should have an active engagement.

Same reason as Graham. Brand reputation. But also liability and doesn’t feel in line with DAO mission. You could easily throw it up to a vote, though!

the DAO's mission is to fund things. the daily auction model is ok at raising but won't be replicating Nouns treasury size any time soon. i don't see any repetitional risk for farming a meme coin but maybe i think about these things differently than some.

Totally. I think we just view the mission and weight of the DAO a little differently. Not a direct comparison, but I’d compare it to a foundation like OP or Arb or Uniswap actively farming the Blur or Blast airdrop and how that would make people feel about the foundation. That’s my hesitation.

If the Optimism foundation was farming $degen rn it’d be the funnest thing to ever happen on Farcaster but they don’t have to because they have their own token worth billions they can sell. Purple good naturedly shit posting on degen would be both extremely fun and good promo
