How much platform risk is a founder taking by building on Farcaster? Very significant iyam... The full article is also a great read: https://medium.com/@lucarestagno/ive-sold-my-4th-saas-as-a-solopreneur-the-backstory-4e6195c305be

Yeah, I don’t think much risk re: Farcaster (that’s the entire point of their existence), but if you build very Warpcast-specific features that may never make it to the protocol (DMs, channels, compose actions, etc). I was around building on that Twitter firehouse api in 2012-2015 era — talk about platform risk. The 2011-2013 era of Twitter products were epic.

Yes, but there are 2 questions I'm asking myself lately: 1️⃣ is FC really sufficiently decentralized? 2️⃣ how much is the risk being so dependant on Warpcast (the only gateway for onboarding rn)? And Warpcast not being competitive in the current social app landscape (missing basic AND advanced features + having limitations, like working with media/video)

Oh, and another thing: I'm trying to always compare to the decentralized protocols that are currently working as intended. FC doesn't look or feel at all like ETH or BTC, as a social network I mean.
