I don't think Jay Graber would describe it this way but it seems the community views it as an escape from musk and zuckerberg that has a credible path to decentralization.

I don’t think the majority of people there care about decentralization (or even know what that means).

Agree with the first bit: it’s a place for left leaning people who want nothing to do with Musk or Zuck.
