In Japan, Chinese onion is called Rakkyo and it is eaten with curry rice. Tottori Prefecture is famous for Rakkyo

In my hometown, Vietnam, people often prepare Chinese Onion to eat during Lunar new year. We called it "Củ kiệu". This dish is more famous in South of Vietnam than North. Northern provinces often eat pickled shallot instead
