A personal contradiction -- I work in frontier tech (crypto), yet I am skeptical of and slow to adopt most nascent technology

It's like the opposite of Gell-Mann Amnesia, where my distrust in one realm (because I know what a shitshow crypto and software in general are) extends to other industries, especially "health" tech

yes. same. crypto is already technologically “complete” in that blockchains are proven to work publicly in situ, low/no execution risk, clear advantages over alternatives, etc.

and yet i dread updating iOS and all other manners of stupid ass tech
