what are the best design patterns to use in place of popups and intrusive " " guides " "that interrupt the user? i can't believe i live in a world where we jump scare our users in ways that TOTALLY INCAPACITATE OUR OWN PRODUCTS AND CUSTOMERS. crazy pills π

i think the helpful chatbot at the side of the screen which pops up basis certain event logs is the way to go - mimics IRL design of us needing help.

Outside of better UI (maybe itβs good to consider removing things instead of adding things). I do find that product tours (Intercom is king, Chameleon and appcues also have good products for certain cases) work pretty well if users opt into it. Otherwise it is pretty intrusive but itβs more in line with guiding the user through the product instead of popups.
