🎩 first, but I like being part of this experiment that is the Farcaster network. 

Yeah, the answer to that is yes they do.

But good to distinguish between /higher the network and $higher the token. Some may sell h to take a position in a deriv eg lum. But all these accrue value back to the network.

Good mental model is how $eth is used to fund ethereum defi projects. Eg uni sucks capital out of eth. But everything eventually accrues value back to the ethereum network, in this case tangibly through gas. 

For higher, I'd argue that value accrual is intangible - the network gains through cultural capital instead. Whether or not this value flows back to higher the token, I don't know. But it does raise the profile of the network higher.
