After 30 years of running, I still can’t answer this question in a simple way. But I will try: It structures my life. I love the process of improvement. I get out what I put in. I compete against myself (mostly). I enjoy it 95% of the time. Feeling good afterwards. Community. Winning races or PBs. Setting lofty goals and then achieving them. Knowledge through experience.
