thanks for reporting, we're looking into it! actually it's not down but there's been some spikes in request slowing down the response time, so from time to time it gives this error

Is there any way to show a better error message in frames? Like try again later or share the problem with us, etc. Is it configurable?

yes but not in that case, as it's a timeout error actually, not an actual error so we can't really manage it
