Web 2 is digital feudalism The platforms hold digital land from the gov’t in exchange for corporate taxes The workers are in paid to work on the platforms, while the users (aka serfs) are obliged to live on the platforms and give homage, labor, and a share of their life, toil away endlessly

A bit provocative: How would Web3 *not* be feudalism? Or rather today the "technofeudalism" that Varoufakis talks about? Techno is the problem. Demos is the people. If the people need the technology to hope getting at Web3, the demos is not "sufficient" to be a citizen anymore.

Or up a level, and even more provocative: how would a cybernetic command and control network deployed on the civilian population post WW2 *not* be feudalism?

Feudalism is based on a system of rent. Would the cyber command need a rent? Perhaps electricity replacing fiat currencies?
