I grew up in a very artistic family, one of my close relatives was the author "Ken Kesey". If you don't know who he is, he wrote "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" along with a number of other great lesser known books- but on top of that was a influential figure in the Beat/counter culture movement of the 70s. He was a magician, a novelist, a farmer and a complex character who embodied his movement of "Merry Pranksters". In an interview many years ago I was called the last of the Merry Pranksters, I guess maybe I've always carried some of that spirit of performance, magic and playfulness through my whole life. Where I grew up I never told people I was related to him because of the attachment to his persona being so magnetic here in Oregon. Now as a middle aged adult I recognize how his influence shaped my life artistically and am more open about it..........

yea the "original" bus and the newer iteration. The old one the Smithsonian wanted to buy since it was taken to the world fair in 68 (The basis for the "electric kool aid acid test" but as it was broke down they hid it in a swamp on Ken's property and tried to "prank" the Smithsonian by pawning off the newer bus on them. It was not a successful prank as when they got to the museum they checked the bus and discovered it had a different engine than the original and rejected adding it to the collection. 😂
