Have you ever played Eclipse? Thematically similar, a little shorter, and I’ve heard good things. That is one I’d like to play.

games are super long, we had a 5-player game go 8 hours, and the 6 player game we’re doing in table top simulator takes around 1.5 hours a turn lmao
