as video footage files (specially) start to fill up my drives too quickly, i'm starting to seriously consider a NAS. Recommendations?

I have the Synology DS923+. It has 4 bays, can also add an expansion of 5 bays later if required. It's all HDD and not ssd, but gets the job done well and I'm happy with it.

thanks! i'm actually reading about this one now. can you share more of your usage/process? if it's storage focused only or if you edit videos directly from it, for example?

For now, I use it as an archive - I empty my memory cards into the NAS after I return from a trip/shoot - so it is stroage focused only. For video edit, I either use my laptop's internal ssd or an external sandisk ssd.
