I have invited a few casters and the feedback I have is mostly “cool app, what do I do next?” What’s your answer? Explore the ecosystem apps? Read on protocol? Build a bot?

I think folks mostly want to know “how is this different from Twitter, what more can I do here than Twitter” etc etc

If you're a lurker, it's worse. But if you want to cast, you're likely to get more engagement / build an audience much faster.

if I understand correctly: you think the main selling point for new joiner isn't the crypto/permissionless primitives, but rather the tangible social metrics?

If you look at this cast https://warpcast.com/linda/0x7ea06d, the quoted advantages over Twitter are: - Less noise (twice) - Conversation quality is amazing - Feels much healthier - Easy to filter interests - Checking it more obsessively 🤷🏻

Because FC is unique and valuable not due to the underlying decentralized tech as @n suggested. It would be great if it unlocked use cases that cannot be replicated in web2 as a way to defend the business model and scaling from incumbents.

cc @n and @dwr.eth whats inherently decentralized about fc? IDs are on chain, but that doesn’t make the protocol decentralized, does it? Hubs is in my reading list so maybe the answer is there. For me the obvious difference is choosing the client to interact with the protocol. The community is a massive plus.

Farcaster's approach to decentralization can simultaneously be valuable but also not matter to most people using it today. :)
