I think it will be very hard to compensate the collaboration and diversity of thought deficiencies, next to actually getting persistent effort. I’d instead focus on finding the right school. Our kids (5, 8) go to Montessori and I am happy how they foster curiosity, independence and do individual teaching.

That’s one thing that is holding me back. Being consistent and offering collaboration while learning.

For the persistence I think it really depends on the kid and the parents. With our kids even doing homework is a pain, I can’t imagine consistently commanding the respect needed to get through material. They both behave much better when there is peer pressure and a “foreign” person.
