My 2c:
1. the developers are big DWeb not Web3 people, basically "we can build on Web2 without cryptocurrencies"...they ironically have more in common with Nostr and the idea that we should build on Web2 DNS, RSS but add new ideas like DiDs and Verifiable Credentials, basically as BSky's CEO Jay says: social media should be more like the web. IMHO, DNS is ruggable but they don't seem to mind.
2. The culture (from the English speaking non-devs) mostly coheres around being anti-Twitter/Musk. Also big support for content moderation, trust & safety tools, which are quite good and well developed. But some users think 'blocking' is possible and keep trying to push for it, while devs point out it's not. There's also a big Japanese and Brazilian contingent now, but I can't speak to that.
3. I'm starting to see developers build on ATProtocol, like SmokeSignal which is basically Eventcaster for BSky, but they don't have anything close to Farcaster frames. The ATProto devs have definitely taken note of FC in this regard 1 reply
