Idea: a farcaster open source public goods funding DAO with a new mechanism.

Anyone can donate and get a non voting token, but voting power is only allocated algorithmically each week to builders based on quadratic root of the qDAUs of their apps on the Farcaster network.

Each weekly vote the voters must also fill in a textfield for things they would need/like to see built that they would consider funding retroactively in next week(s)

- votes are on L2 and are sponsored by dao. 
- there are no proposals, forums or other governance. The software runs the DAO weekly vote automatically using an oracle and only pauses when it runs out of money or nobody votes

- funds only merged pull requests from the last week

would have additional simplifiers:
- only retroactive in use projects
- only open source code
- must allocate the quadratic root of the treasury every day, voting once per week quadratically

gets rid of the principle agent problem for this subsection of Farcaster public goods - why have random members speculatively vote on what open source libraries are helpful, instead let builders decide what is helpful

Ideas around how to objectively measure a qDAU?

hard to make this fully permissionless since it relies on offchain data to select voters but an easy way would be to have a selection committee that submits the valid list of builders and the non voting tokens can choose to veto if they think the committee is acting maliciously

I think this works with non-technical groups as well. Think donate to an art collective and artists get to curate up-and-comers to fund
