hmmm that’s a tough one. I’ve gone through quite a few, some are more than hobbies though: - building custom PCs - mechanical keyboards - coffee - hi-fi - japanese knives - tennis - classical music - photography - chess - whiskey - gas-powered RC cars (lol) I think hi-fi might be the most enduring and meaningful for me because it brings together my interests in engineering and music. when I left my previous career as a classical musician there was a void left as a result, and I think hi-fi is one way for me to fill that void. I wish it wasn’t quite as insanely expensive, though 😂 it’s also allowed me to learn more about electrical engineering and hardware more generally, which only surfaced as interests for me after working in the tech industry. but if I look back, it’s sort of obvious that I would be into this stuff. I was taking AP calculus in high school, building computers, taking programming courses… I actually have a lot of regret from not pursuing those interests further at the time.
