You can appreciate and respect something without liking it. Example: I can’t stand the Beatles but I know that their music and contributions to music are brilliant. I might call their music “mid” in jest, but if I seriously assess it that way, it’s my lack of understanding that’s at fault, not the Beatles. Also, if you don’t appreciate OR like Bill Burr, comedy might not be your thing. 😉

Totally agree with this I appreciate and respect the hell out of Kendrick's music, and I don't like it But I do appreciate, respect, AND like Bill Burr, so we can still be friends :) https://warpcast.com/zd/0x23066491

living for this. You touched some of my core values. We need to come along because of enriching differences rather than group because of similarities. Group psychology freaks me out

Lol, I guess I should have clarified. I LOVE Bill Burr. He is my spirit animal. But it is possible he bombs on a set. Off day, jet lag, whatever. It happens. I can understand some people liking hip hop, but not that particular set by KL, even if it was a half time show. But lets use e.g. Amy Schumer. I think she sucks. Her jokes are just not funny. But if people say "you don't like her bcs she is a woman, and comedy is just not your thing", that's gaslighting.
