Today, I want to share lessons from the $NATIVE alpha.

The first lesson: Native's core idea works.

Launch a real-world coin, earn income.

These real-world coins put no burden on users. You're not a "dev" in Native.

Next? Build an agentic game economy around real-world coins.

There have been ≈150 users on the alpha.

But it hasn't been without issue. 

I hear you.

Things have been too complicated.

So I'm simplifying things.

Starting with coins.

Swapping for real-world tokens like @jessepollak's $LOTION or @maretus' $BADDER has been complicated and limiting.

Part of the benefit of building onchain is interoperability with other tools.

Obstacles like pairing real-world coins with $NATIVE only hurts users and Native.

That said, I still believe that the future of $NATIVE includes pairings with $NATIVE. 

But we’re not quite ready for that yet. 

In chatting with industry leaders, we’re maybe a few months away from it being seamless.

But for now, the friction is too high.

So starting today: tokens launched via Native are now paired with ETH on @base.

They're still tradable by Dots.

There's still utility for $NATIVE.

But this means that you can finally trade real-world coins like any other.

No friction. No over-complication.

Note for those who have been testing the app: if you've launched a token paired with $NATIVE, only you can re-launch it paired with ETH.

For sure! I've hidden the token pair selection for now until industry is ready. 

For now, you can just launch just as you would any other token in Native! It should automatically pair with ETH.

appreciate the transparency. when i launched $ALOHA it gave me the option to pair with ETH. does this just mean now you can only pair with ETH?

also, how do i relaunch it? would love to re-pair it.

Q: so the old trading pairs with native are no longer tradeable. Does this mean the coins I bought for are a write-off, or do I get the same allo when now re-launching this with ETH automatically?
