I don’t know who needs to hear this, but if you’re a VC in crypto, your wallet is viewable on chain. Which means I check if you own Native before we hop on a call.

Is owning native or not owning native better when coming in as a VC? Or is it more about being transparent with intentions?

It shows pre-call conviction. It's not required for an investment by any means (there are a variety of reasons why one *wouldn't* own Native prior), but generally it's a good thing in my book. Either answer (own or not own) also provides interesting conversation material for an introductory call.

Part 2: It also shows that you've at least checked Native out for yourself, rather than just riding Farcaster or Twitter hype. You've experienced first-hand what I'm building, and have informed opinions on it, which is most certainly a good thing in my book.

Interested to see how VCs coming in post token looks as most projects I see seem to have VCs in before token launching and all the contentious (between community and VCs) dynamics that come with it

Yeah. 100%. A lot of VCs get a bad rap imo. A lot deserve every ounce of ire. It's more about finding partners that you work well with, believe in you, and believe in what you're building. If those things are true, and the community respects you as owner/dev/leader, then the community should embrace them.
